Dot Origin is committed to protecting the privacy of anyone who visits one of our web sites or who enquires or transacts with us via the web or any other means.
This policy may change from time to time, without notice, and the latest version will be displayed at www.dotorigin.com/privacy at all times.
Web logs and analytics
We use web server logs and the Google Analytics service to monitor visitor behaviour on our web sites. This means that we have access to statistical, browser and IP address information that is available when you browse the internet. Generally, this information is used to evaluate our web site performance, where visitors come from, which areas are of particular interest and how visitors behave when on our site, including how long they spend and whether they decide to place orders or make further enquiries. We may correlate accesses on different dates and sites to gain further information and to improve our services to our customers. Data is normally kept for up to 25 months in line with Google’s data retention policy – you can find out more about Google Analytics at www.google.com/analytics
Sharing of data
We will not share any of the information collected as described above with anyone outside of Dot Origin or its subsidiaries, other than aggregated information that may be provided to third parties for statistical analysis. We may share specific information that you have provided as part of an order if this data needs to be shared to fulfil that order (see purchasing online, below).
If you place an order via one of our e-commerce web sites, we will use your personal information to process your order and to provide any additional services that you’ve requested. We may also use this information for auditing, research and analysis purposes, in order to operate and improve our products and services, and for the prevention of fraud. Other than for these purposes, we will not pass your details on to any third parties without your consent.
Your order information may be retained by Dot Origin indefinitely for accounting, tax reporting and business analysis purposes. If you have purchased a product or service from us, we may send you several emails relating to the progress of your transaction. We may also send you relevant marketing emails relating to the goods or services that you purchased, where we believe they may be of interest to you. You can opt out of this service at any time by following the appropriate ‘unsubscribe’ link, which is managed by an email service provider on our behalf.
We take the security of your personal information very seriously. When you shop online, all of your personal and payment information is protected by well-established internet security methods and protocols. Your credit card details are also always transmitted for processing in an encrypted form.
