Building secure IT systems

Smartcards can be used within many aspects of IT security including secure 'two-factor' PC logon, disk encryption, and VPN's (Virtual Private Networks). These applications can be implemented using PKI (Public Key Infrastructure) or a range of other techniques including one-time passcodes and secure password storage.
Dot Origin supplies component parts and complete solutions covering a wide range of IT security requirements, including PKI and logon solutions from leading manufacturers such as ACS, GemAlto and HID. These solutions range from complete packaged products to development kits allowing users to implement their own bespoke systems or to utilise specialised biometric and smartcard hardware.
Dot Origin's experience in this area has also led to the creation of the Crescendo Evaluation kit which includes a purpose written start-up guide designed to help users easily set up Microsoft Windows smartcard authentication using HID's popular range of dual-purpose access control cards.
Dot Origin is continually working with industry partners to further develop and enhance smartcard-based IT security products. Examples include the development of a low cost Sun Ray card with Sun Microsystems and the creation of a customised one-time passcode solution based on ACS APG82 readers and Javacard technology.
